This course provides an in-depth understanding of network and transport layer protocols. Also, various LAN standards, application layer protocols, and network security will be covered. The main objectives of the course are:
-> Description of main standards for Local Area Networks.
-> Analysis and understanding of medium access techniques in shared-medium transmission systems.
-> In-depth understanding of network layer and its protocols.
-> Analysis of services provided by the transport layer as well as TCP and UDP protocols.
-> Knowledge of application protocols concepts, models and services.
-> Network security analysis.
-> How to do computer networks research.
