The Professional Competency Enhancement Program
for Teachers (PCEPT) under the National Academy of Higher Education,
started at University of Engineering & Technology, Taxila
on 12th of September 2011. The 24 day program is being held in
the video conference hall (at the central library, UET, Taxila).
Participants attending the program include faculty and staff from
all the departments of the university as well as participants
neighboring institutes. In total thirty two participants are enrolled.
The opening ceremony with Vice chancellor UET Taxila Prof. Dr.
Muhammad Abbas Chaudhary as chief guest was held. The ceremony
started with the name of almighty “Allah”.
In the opening remarks program coordinator Dr. Riffat Asim Pasha
described the program format and the general requirements.
Prof. Dr. Muhammad Abbas Chaudhary, Vice chancellor UET, Taxila,
welcomed all participants and shares his thoughts.
He appreciated the efforts done by National Academy of Higher
Education in providing such opportunity at the university door
step to enhance the capabilities of their faculty members. He
advised the participants to get maximum benefit from this opportunity.
He said that this program is worthwhile for experienced and inexperienced
teachers alike to enhance their communication and management capabilities.
Moreover, he said that the capabilities gained during this program
should be implemented in the respective fields, like in lectures,
research projects, reports and administrative duties etc. He thanked
the resource persons for giving their willingness in delivering
the lectures in different fields of expertise and assured any
logistic support during the course.
At the end he thanked everyone for their participation and effort
to make this program a reality.
