NERC (National Engineering Robotics Competition) 2017



UET Taxila Wins the “Best Performance and Design Award” and “EME Award” for overall best institutional performance at NERC-17, NUST.


National Engineering Robotic Contest (NERC) is the most prestigious and oldest national level robotic contest in Pakistan which is held annually at EME, NUST Rawalpindi. This year the event was held on 12-15 July and a total of 168 teams participated in the event from thirty institutions, all over Pakistan. Teams from the Mechatronics Engineering Department of UET Taxila Sub-Campus Chakwal participate in the event every year. This year, eight teams appeared in the contest under the "Indigenous Category" which means that all parts of the participating robots were physically manufactured and assembled by our students themselves. Out of the pool of 168 teams from all over the country, three teams from Chakwal Campus qualified for the final round of top sixteen teams while one team received the Best Design and Performance Award of Rs. 20,000 cash and souvenir. Moreover, an overall institutional award titled “EME Award” was also given to Chakwal Campus on the basis of maximum participation and overall best performance among all the participating institutions. This award was received by the Campus Director.
