About
The continuous shrinking of transistor channel lengths to less than 10 nm today has undoubtedly led integrated circuits technology revolution to enter into a new era of art and science but at the same time there is a growing need to address complicated issues like deep-submicron non-ideal effects in CMOS, precise transistor modeling, interconnect, signal integrity, low-power and low-voltage design, leakage management, impact of PVT variations on timing and robustness.
The School of Telecommunications & IT in UET, Taxila has taken an initiative to become part of 21st century IC design revolution by establishing Institute of Applied Technologies IC Design Centre whose sole purpose is to prepare the students for digital, analog/mixed-signal and RF integrated circuit design with a strong technical emphasis on both the theory and practice. At the moment, selected courses are offered to students but the future plan is to extend this program to HEC recognized full-time Masters program in the field of IC design.
