Pioneer Ph.D. Software Engineering Graduate of Department of Software Engineering, UET, Taxila Mr. Muazzam Maqsood has successfully completed his Ph.D. under the supervision of Dr. Hafiz Adnan Habib. He is a pioneer Ph.D. graduate of Department of Software Engineering, UET, Taxila. He has received his Ph.D. degree at 17th Convocation of UET Taxila. His Ph.D. research title is “Quranic Recitation Pronunciation Modeling and Analysis”. He is currently serving as a faculty member at COMSATS Institute of Information and Technology, Attock.
Participation in the Workshop of Science Communication Portfolio: A Guide to Creating Communication Materials that Complement Science The OIC Standing Committee on Scientific and Technological Cooperation (COMSTECH), Islamabad in collaboration with Weekly Technology Times organized an international workshop “Science Communication Portfolio: A Guide to Creating Communication Materials that Complement Science” for OIC member states, from January 10 to 12, 2017 at COMSTECH, Islamabad. The workshop was aimed to provide an opportunity for understanding the role of science and technology in the 21st century and how it can be better communicated to the general public as well as policy makers. Engr. Mubbashir Ayub, Asst Prof, Software Engineering Department, represented UET Taxila in this workshop.
IEEE International Conference on Consumer Electronics-2016 Seoul, Republic of Korea Dr. Ali Javed, Assistant Professor in Software Engineering Department at University of Engineering and Technology-Taxila, Pakistan was awarded the travel grant by Higher Education Commission (HEC) Pakistan to present his research paper at IEEE International Conference on Consumer Electronics (ICCE), 2016. Prof. Dr. Daniel Cremer who is heading computer vision research group at Technical University of Munich, Germany and conference chair for CVPR was one of the keynote speaker at ICCE 2016. In ICCE 2016, 211 papers were selected for publication from 15 different countries.
3rd Annual Conference of Asian Council of Science Editors (ACSE) at Dubai-UAE Engr. Ali Javed, Assistant Professor in Software Engineering Department at University of Engineering and Technology-Taxila, Pakistan was invited by Asian Council of Science Editors (ACSE) to attend its 3rd Annual Conference at Dubai-UAE on 10-11 August 2016. He is the Ambassador of Asian Council of Science Editors and holds life time membership of ACSE as well. He was awarded certificates of participation for ACSE short course for Journal Editors on Improving the Journal Quality led by Dr. Pippa Smart, and ACSE short course for Journal Editors on Bibliometric led by Dr. Phillip J. Purnell.
Workshop Organized by Asian Council of Science Editors (ACSE) Engr. Ali Javed serving as an Assistant Professor in Software Engineering Department at UET Taxila has attended the workshop on Research Integrity and Peer Review organized by Asian Council of Science Editors (ACSE) on 18th February, 2016 at Islamabad. This workshop was conducted by a globally renowned scholar Dr. Elizabeth Wager. The workshop covered a comprehensive analysis, group discussions, and best practices for research integrity and peer view.

Students from Session 2014 Software Engineering Department visited Ciklum as part of Industrial Tour program. Different presentations were presented by developers and managers of Ciklum about the state-of-art in Software Engineering, recruitment, and life as a developer. It was followed by informal networking session with employees of Ciklum.

Open House and Job Fair at University of Engineering and Technology
In an effort to showcase the practical application of technical
skills and excellence by our graduating engineers, UET Taxila organized
Job Fair and Open House on March 4, 2015.
The activities included as:
• Display of the Final Year Student projects
• Product Expos and Exhibition of industrial products
• Job Fair and interviews by industrial organizations for
recruitment and placement of UET students and to facilitate interaction
with students to evaluate the suitability of potential candidates
• Visits of laboratories in departments by industry experts,
to provide numerous possibilities of establishing an active collaboration
of UET Taxila with organizations.
The current event proved to be dynamic, gigantic, tremendous and
multifarious occasion. Among many other companies, PTCL actively
and enthusiastically participated in this event. The event ceremony
was inaugurated by the honourable Vice Chancellor, UET Taxila.
