IT Cricket League 2013

The Softdesk Society in Software Engineering Department UET, Taxila hosted a “Cricket Tournament” from 11th to 13th February, 2013. This event was organized by Softdesk society under the guidance of Engr. Ali Javed, Assistant Professor, Department of Software Engineering, who is also the advisor of Softdesk society.

Softdesk society continued its tradition of promoting extracurricular activities among students by organizing this event. 12 Teams participated in that event from Software, Computer and Telecom Department. Computer and Telecom Teams qualified for the finals. The final encounter proved to be the most interesting game of the tournament where the computer team emerged as the Victorian. The winners then played a friendly series of 3 matches with the faculty where faculty clinched the series by 2-1.

Softdesk team covered the whole event and provided some wonderful commentary of the whole tournament to the audience.
The Dean Faculty of Telecom & Information Engineering, UET Taxila, Prof. Dr. Adeel Akram also attended the event and appreciated the efforts of Softdesk team.

In the closing ceremony, Dr. Tabassam Nawaz, Chairman, Department of Software Engineering presented Trophies to Winner and Runner ups teams, Man of the Match and Man of the Series. Dr. Tabassam Nawaz the Patron-In- Chief and Engr. Ali Javed the Advisor of Softdesk society expressed their thoughts about the event and appreciated the efforts of Softdesk team.
