Conference Venue

The conference will be held in University of Engineering and Technology, Taxila. The University College of Engineering Taxila was established in 1975 but received its charter as an independent Public Sector University by the Punjab Government under the University of Engineering and Technology Taxila Ordinance 1993.

Taxila, ancient city of northwestern Pakistan, the ruins of which are about 22 miles (35 km) northwest of Rawalpindi or Capital Islamabad. The city's original name, Takshashila, referred to the predominant building material of the time: cut stone. It was first uncovered by archaeologist Alexander Cunningham in the mid-1800s, and it has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1980. Taxila had a pivotal role in the Kingdom of Gandhara, which ruled the area from roughly 1000 BC to AD 1000. Several successive dynasties took control of Taxila after that, all hoping to capitalize on the city’s strategic location along a major commerce route through South and Central Asia. Buddhist ruins and artifacts from the historical period are the sole reason for the city’s notoriety. Nonetheless, Hindu and Jain sites and artifacts have been discovered here as well.
