The Department offers four years degree program of BSc Energy Engineering Technology, which is a very unique program exploring the critical field of energy in a collaborative, conceptual and hands-on environment. The program provide the basic understanding of all aspects of power generation and energy consumption. The specific focus of Energy Engineering Technology program is upon project based learning, community and industrial outreach, renewable energy, energy conservation strategies, energy policies and administration, and internship and research opportunities.
The aim of Energy Engineering Technology program is to develop well skilled technologists who possess the technical knowledge about wide range in energy sector. This program will provide knowledge of the discipline in the local and international socio-economic context. Energy technologists will not only have the relevant technical skills, but also become problem solvers with engineering sense.
Courses of Study
BSc Energy Engineering Technology program is a first of its kind in the country with the curriculum addressing the development of alternative sources of energy and conventional fossil fuels at the undergraduate level.
More specifically, the program will incorporate elements of the conventional fuel science with the courses focused on renewable energy as well as natural sciences including mathematics, physics and chemistry. Graduates of the program will be able to understand mechanical & electrical engineering fundamentals and apply that knowledge to solve problems in the production, processing, storage, distribution, and utilization of energy using multiple engineering techniques.
