Qazi Muhammad Nouman Amjad

I am Qazi Muhammad Nouman Amjad, currently employed as a Senior Scientific Officer at one of Pakistan's esteemed defense organizations—Alhumdulillah.

My academic journey began with the completion of my Master's degree in Physics in 2013 from the University of Wah, Wah Cantt, where I had the honor of graduating with distinction and receiving the Gold Medal. Following that, I ventured into teaching at the Intermediate level while actively seeking opportunities to pursue my MS/M. Phil degree in physics.

In February 2014, the University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Taxila introduced the MS degree in Physics for the first time in its history. The competition was intense, with over 100 applicants, and only 50 were selected for interviews. Fortunately, I secured admission, becoming part of the inaugural batch of MS Physics at the Department of Basic Sciences (Physics faculty was the part of this at that time) .

This marked the beginning of a transformative period for me. The department, under the guidance of its proficient Physics faculty, provided a conducive learning environment. Encouraged by their skills and expertise, I delved into research, resulting in two publications in international journals during my MS journey. Today, Alhumdulillah, I have a total of six international publications in reputable journals and conferences.

I attribute my success to the collective efforts and prayers of my own, the dedicated Physics faculty, my supportive family, and friends. As I continue to serve my nation, I extend my best wishes to the newly formed Department of Physical Sciences (Previously was the part of Department of Basic Sciences), and UET Taxila. May they progress vigorously and achieve great milestones. Wishing this esteemed institution all the very best.

Faheem Gul

Dear all, My name is Faheem Gul, I received my masters degree from UET Taxila in 2022. In my masters, I worked on research thesis under the supervision of Dr. Kulsoom Rahim on “Photo-induced non-Dirac topological Chern insulating Phase in Metallic edge states”. My master’s research article was published under the title “Chern insulating phase in non Dirac hetero structure: Role of polarized light and spin orbit interaction” . I defended my research work in MS thesis with 3.41/4 CGPA. I gained experience of M athematica and LaT eX during my research work. Not only this, my curiosity for always learning new drove me toward the experimental side. Therefore, I joined a research lab under Polish Academy of Sciences in Poland. Where, I learned many experimental techniques for the analysis of magnetic and topological transport phases in single crystalline materials at low temperatures. In-between, I worked in Dr. Sajjad’s lab to synthesize nanoparticles using green sources. I am extremely grateful to my supervisor, Dr. Kulsoom, for enhancing my research skills in the field of condensed matter. I would also like to express my gratitude towards my faculty professors and staff. However, I would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Sajjab Sab, who has been my role model and a source of inspiration for me and has guided and motivated me throughout my academic journey.
