The iTS’24 competition, organized by Cogent Labs, was an incredible
journey for participants, showcasing the best from over 150 final-year projects across 150+ universities.
The competition included three challenging phases: initial submission, mid-evaluation, and the final round. Out
of this sea of talent, only 7 exceptional projects made it to the final stage, held on
June 1st, 2024, in Lahore.
We proudly announce that a team from Session-2020 of Software Engineering Department was among the
top seven FYP projects that made it to the final stage. Under the expert guidance of Dr.
Kanwal Yousaf, team members Muhammad Maaz Khalid (20-SE-16), Muhammad Abdullah
(20-SE-21), and Hamza Shaukat (20-SE-68)
developed LawLens. LawLens is an AI-powered lawyer assistant chatbot
application designed to simplify legal complexities in Pakistan. It aims to help individuals
resolve their legal issues and enhance legal literacy in the country.
In the final round, four distinguished judges—Ehmad Zubair, CEO of Cogent Labs;
Rizwan Aslam, Co-founder of Arbisoft; Abdur-Rub Atta Shahid, the lead data scientist of xiQ, Inc.;
and Ahmad Rafique, COO of Codexia Technologies—provided insightful feedback and posed
challenging questions that not only added immense value but also helped students significantly improve
their FYPs.
Overall, this innovative project highlights our students' exceptional talent and hard work, as well as
the quality of education and mentorship provided at UET Taxila.
