SCOPE
Department has launched the program of MS (Applied Physics) and
MS (Mathematics) by keeping in view the following points as far
as social circle of UET, Taxila is concerned:
- In order to have more in-depth study of research projects of
applied nature which are already going on in the existing Engineering
faculties of UET, Taxila.
- In order to elevate the industry based research in the field
of applied physics and Mathematics.
- To fill the space of more application oriented Physicists as
far as sensitivity and demand of region is concerned
- To enhance the teamwork among the Engineers and Scientist of
the University and region for producing quality research of international
repute
In addition to above social concern, Department has worked out
in detail as far as employment perspectives of graduates are concerned.
The city of Taxila is located in the vicinity of six to seven strategic
and industrial organization including Pakistan Ordinance Factory,
Wah Cantt, Heavy Industry Taxila (HIT), Taxila Cantt, Heavy Mechanical
Complex (HMC) Taxila, Project Management Organization (PMO), Islamabad
and Hattar Industrial State, Hattar, Haripure, where the need of
Physicists having the experience of applied nature is growing day
by day. Moreover, many other public and private sector Universities
and colleges are there in region including University of Wah, Wah
Engineering College, HITEC University, Taxila, and University of
Haripur, Haripur. These are all ideal places for graduate of Applied
Physics as far as job perspectives are concerned. Department have
full belief that the experience of Applied Physics graduate working
in close collaboration of excellent Engineering Faculty of UET,
Taxila will surely have upper edge among the candidates of other
universities of Pakistan.
By considering above mention factors UET Taxila has launched MS
(Applied Physics) and MS (Mathematics) Program since spring 2014
in the Department of Basic Sciences. Our goal is to fill the space
of physicists not only in Pakistan but also abroad. To obtain this
purpose, we have devised a conducive plan that will lead to a professional
and research-based program in which students will be trained regarding
market needs. An important component of this program is our collaboration
with national and international universities and organizations to
provide valuable jobs in industry after graduation. Our collaborative
universities and organizations include National Institute of Laser
and Optoelectronics (NILOP), Heavy Industries Taxila (HIT), Kyung
Hee University (KHU) South Korea
