COURSE DESCRIPTION

This course includes an introduction to Computer graphics & Digital Image Processing techniques covering digital techniques for image representation, enhancement, compression and restoration. Students will learn the fundamentals behind image processing methods and algorithms. This course presents the theory and practice of digital image processing with Mathematical and focuses on the Digital Image Processing package. The lectures are followed by exercise sessions to help attendees understand the material and to provide a focused and practical learning experience.



• Students are expected to learn techniques of enhancement and quantification of digital imagery acquisition.

• Students are expected to design and implement a practical digital image processing project using techniques learned in the class.


• To provide students with a substantial understanding of a wide range of image processing algorithms with hand-on experience.

• To offer students different possible real-world applications of digital image processing techniques

• Perform image enhancement and restoration

• Perform image compression and decompression


• Perform morphological operations
