POSTGRADUATE PROGRAM

Research work carried out at the department has a direct bearing on the needs of the national industry. This research is partially funded by the Directorate of Advanced Studies, Research and Technological Development of the University and Higher Education Commission. The faculty members and postgraduate students have published several research papers, and the industrial projects are also conducted in the department to meet the requirements of the neighboring industries. The department's faculty members have published more than 100 research papers in reputed national and international journals/conferences during the last three years. The department also arranges conferences, seminars, and workshops in various areas of Electrical and Electronics Engineering. The faculty members, postgraduate students, and prominent researchers from home and abroad participate in these seminars.

Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering Program

The department has a well-established Ph.D. program in Electrical Engineering, which was started in 2001. The Ph.D. degree is awarded after compliance with all requirements of the Higher Education Commission. So far, 39 students have completed their doctoral degrees, and 20 students are currently registered in the program.

The department has 16 Ph.D. supervisors doing research in Power and Energy Systems, Power Electronics, Control and Automation, Communication, and Digital Techniques. Nine Ph.D. faculty members of the department are included in the list of Ph.D. supervisors approved by the Higher Education Commission. Well-established labs and research groups are available for Ph.D. students.

M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering Program

The department started its postgraduate program in 1984 and offered courses for the award of M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering. The M.Sc. program is offered with specializations in

The master's degree courses aim to bring the students abreast with the most recent developments in their fields of specialization. In addition, these courses are offered to keep in view the needs of students working with major engineering organizations.
