3rd International Conference on Advances in Civil and Environmental Engineering (ICACEE-2024) is scheduled on 21st and 22nd February 2024. As an annual conference, the goal of ICACEE-2024 is to bring together, multi-disciplinary group of highly cited researchers and engineers from all over the world to present and exchange break-through ideas related to Civil and Environmental Engineering.

  • Wei Sun is currently an associate professor at the School of Civil Engineering, Sun Yat-Sen University, China.
  • He earned his PhD in Civil Engineering from Tsinghua University in 2020.
  • Dr. Sun has made significant contributions in the field of geomechanics and computational modeling, with a focus on Peridynamics (PD), particularly for multiscale and multiphysics modeling using PD. He has developed novel PD-FEM coupling model for simulating crack initiation and propagation in geomaterials induced by fluid, thermal and seismic loadings.

  • Professor at NUST Institute of Civil Engineering (SCEE-NICE), Islamabad, Pakistan.
  • Dr. Hamza Farooq Gabriel received his BSc Civil Engineering Degree from the University of Engineering & Technology, Lahore in 1984. In 1992 and 2010, he received his MSc Civil Engineering Degree in Construction Management from the University of Birmingham, UK and PhD (Applied Hydrology) from the Charles Sturt University, New South Wales, Australia respectively.
  • Before joining NUST, Dr. Hamza has served at the Centre of Excellence in Water Resources Engineering (CEWRE), University of Engineering & Technology (UET), Lahore from August 1984 to February 2004.
  • Dr. Hamza has a multidisciplinary teaching and research experience of over 35 years in water resources management, water resources engineering, engineering hydrology and construction project management. He has supervised 112 MSc/MPhil theses in various disciplines of civil engineering and has published over 90 international and national journal /conference papers.

  • Dr. Mohammad has served as acting vice chancellor of the UET Peshawar and Dean faculty of engineering. Previously, he remained the chairman department of mining engineering for five years. He completed his PhD from the University of Nottingham, UK, in 1998 and spent over 30 years in engineering education.
  • His major research work  focused on rock mechanics.

Dr. Asim Farooq
  • Dr. Asim Farooq is working as the Head of Department at the Center of Excellence in Transportation/Railway Engineering (COETRE), Department of Transportation Engineering, at Pak Austria Fachhochschule: Institute of Applied Sciences and Technology, Haripur, KPK, Pakistan.
  • He completed his PhD in Transportation Planning Engineering from the University of Sciences and Technology, Beijing, China, in 2019. He worked as an assistant researcher at Virginia Tech US, and he also worked with BMW, Germany, and German Highways and Motorways (Autobahn Südbayern), Germany. He did his Master in Transportation Engineering from the Technical University of Munich, Germany, and holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
  • His research is mainly focused on transportation planning and design between two cities to increase the connection and connectivity, reduce travel time, analyze travel delay, transfer time, travel reliability, safety, and comfort of the passenger. During his career, he published many research articles. Dr. Asim has supervised over 50 researchers at the master level and two at the PhD level

 

  • All accepted papers will be published in conference proceedings which will be published as the Special Issue of the Technical Journal (ISSN: 1813-178). In addition, the selected papers will be invited to publish their extended versions in the Regular Issue of the Technical Journal.
