• Session regarding "Environmental Awareness" at Army Public School (Askari-IV)

• 3rd International Conference on Advances in Civil and Environmental Engineering (ICACEE-2024)

• The Department of Environmental Engineering has been granted reaccreditation under level-II of Outcome Based Education (OBE) system for two years i.e., for intake batches of 2019 and 2020, based on the satisfactory level of compliance against accreditation criteria and quality standards.

• The Department of Environmental Engineering organized a guest talk on "Industrial Sustainability and Cleaner Production" on 18-10-2022. The guests guided the students regarding the scope of Environmental Engineering and their placements in various departments of the industries.

• Punjab Workers Welfare School Rawalpindi invited Engr. Babar Abbas for an environmental awareness session under the Clean and Green Pakistan Program by the Government of Pakistan for their senior classes on 28-9-2022. The Department of Environmental Engineering under its community service intention allowed the concerned faculty member to join the event. The event included a motivational lecture regarding the protection of the environment followed by a tree plantation drive. The Principal, Ms. Arooj Hamdani, thanked UET Taxila for supporting the juniors.

• The Department of Environmental Engineering conducted an orientation session for the new students of 2022 entry on 26-09-2022. During this session, the students were warmly welcomed and were deliberated regarding university life, available facilities, rules and regulations, and examination criteria as per the outcome-based education (OBE) system.

• The Department of Environmental Engineering conducted Industrial Advisory Board (IAB) meeting on 20-09-2022 for continuous quality improvement (CQI) as a part of outcome-based education (OBE) system implementation. Experts from various industrial domains attended the meeting.

• The Department of Environmental Engineering organized a one-day training session on "Implementation of OBE Concepts in Engineering Programs (OEL, PBL, CEP)" on 22-05-2023 (Monday) at 10:00 am. Dr. Irshad Qureshi (Assistant Professor, Civil Engineering Department) was the resource person. This training helped to clarify and strengthen the concepts of outcome-based education (OBE) system, its implementation methodologies, and assessment mechanism.

• The Department of Environmental Engineering organized a training session on "Overview of outcome-based education (OBE) system and its assessment modules for theory and lab" on 07-07-2022 (Thursday) at 11:00 am. Dr. Faheem Butt (Assistant Professor, Civil Engineering Department) was the resource person. This training helped to clarify and strengthen the concepts of outcome-based education (OBE) system, its implementation methodologies, and assessment mechanism.

• The Department of Environmental Engineering and Green Youth Movement (GYM) Club organized a cleanliness drive and awareness campaign at three different locations in Swat District from 04-06-2022 to 06-06-2022. During this event, students of 2k18 and 2k19 sessions visited Mingora Swat, Fizagarh Park Bahrain, and Mohdand Lake Kalam as a part of their study tour. This activity helped to realize the importance of a clean and green environment on the occasion of World Environment Day.

• The Department of Environmental Engineering in collaboration with Green Youth Movement (GYM) club conducted an "Anti-Smog Campaign" as an awareness activity on 03-12-2021. The worthy Additional Deputy Commissioner, Rawalpindi and Assistant Commissioner, Taxila joined the campaign as chief guests. The event was also followed by tree plantation drive to promote environmental protection.

• The Department of Environmental Engineering and the Department of Civil Engineering organized the 1st International Conference on "Advances in Civil & Environmental Engineering" on 22nd and 23rd February 2022. Students, alumni, faculty, industrial professionals, and notable researchers from all over the world attended this event in hybrid mode to showcase their state-of-the-art research through oral and poster presentations. This event helped the research community to share their research ideas regarding contemporary trends in the aforementioned fields.

• The Department of Environmental Engineering conducted an orientation session for the new students of 2021 entry on 21-12-2021. During this session, the students were warmly welcomed and were deliberated regarding the university life, available facilities, rules and regulations, and examination criteria as per outcome based education (OBE) system.

• The Department of Environmental Engineering arranged a one-day awareness lecture regarding safety practices in laboratories on 21-06-2021 (Monday) at 12:00 P.M. This session helped faculty members and lab staff to learn safety culture, emergency preparedness, and first-aid practices.

• The Department of Environmental Engineering is going to organize a Continual Professional Development Activity with 1.0 CPD credit on "Geographical Information System (GIS) and Remote Sensing in the field of Engineering" on 04-03-2021 (Thursday) at 09:00 a.m.

• The Department of Environmental Engineering conducted orientation for Session-2020 on 07-10-2020 (Wednesday). The students were deliberated regarding university culture, department, facilities and examination mechanism.

• The Department of Environmental Engineering conducted one day workshop on "Microsoft Office" in collaboration with the Society of Environmental Engineers (SEE) on 27-11-2019 (Wednesday).

• The Department of Environmental Engineering conducted one day workshop on "Waste and Resource Recycling Practices" in collaboration with the Society of Environmental Engineers (SEE) on 28-01-2020 (Tuesday). Dr. Muhammad Ali was the resource person from the University of Portsmouth, UK.

• The ERP system has been launched at UET Taxila. The ERP team conducted a one-day training session at the Department of Environmental Engineering on 11-11-2020 (Wednesday).

• The Department of Environmental Engineering will be organizing Open House and Job Fair on 16th July, 2019 (Tuesday). Students of 2K15 session will display their projects to the visiting students, faculty and representatives from industry. Moreover, cash prizes will be distributed among best projects.

• Department of Environmental Engineering arranged farewell gatherings in the honor of Chairman, Prof. Dr. Liaqat Ali Qureshi on 8th, 10th and 12th April, 2019 on the behalf of faculty, students and supporting staff, respectively. The Department is thankful to the honorable Chairman for his splendid efforts and we wish him the best of luck for future endeavors.

• Department of Environmental Engineering conducted Board of Undergraduate Studies meeting on 09-04-2019 (Tuesday) for continuous quality improvement (CQI) as a part of outcome-based education (OBE) system implementation. Experts from various academic institutions and industrial domains attended the meeting.

• Department of Environmental Engineering conducted Industrial Advisory Board (IAB) meeting on 01-03-2019 for continuous quality improvement (CQI) as a part of outcome-based education (OBE) system implementation. Experts from various industrial domains attended the meeting.

• Tree Plantation drive was carried out by the Department of Environmental Engineering in collaboration with National Cleaner Production Center (NCPC) on 01-03-2019. Various industrial experts also attended this environmental friendly activity.

• Students of session 2k15 visited Jabban Hydropower Plant, Malakand from 27-02-2019 to 01-03-2019 as a part of their study tour. Students were demonstrated by the site officials regarding various benefits and operational processes involved in the project. Moreover, this study tour also helped the students to get the exposure of real time operations and practices.

• Department of Environmental Engineering organized one day interactive session on "Carrier Counselling" on 11-01-2019. Engr. Waqas Arshad was invited as guest speaker, who is the alumni of this department and is currently pursuing postgraduate studies in Finland. In this session, students were deliberated about the steps of admission and effective strategies to win scholarships for higher studies.

• Students of session 2k16 visited Jabban Hydropower Plant, Malakand from 19-12-2018 to 21-12-2018 as a part of their study tour. Students were demonstrated by the site officials regarding various benefits and operational processes involved in the project. Moreover, this study tour also helped the students to get the exposure of real time operations and practices.

• Department of Environmental Engineering conducted one day workshop on "Geographical Information System (GIS) and Remote Sensing in the Field of Engineering" on 20-12-2018. Mr. Tahir Mahmood Butt (Senior Scientist) was invited as guest speaker from National Engineering Services Pakistan (NESPAK). Graduate students, faculty and students from different departments also attended this informative session.

• WWF-Pakistan is dedicated to creating environmental awareness by providing quality environmental education through their University Outreach Programme. Department of Environmental Engineering in collaboration with World Wildlife Fund (WWF) conducted one day seminar on 13-11-2018. In this seminar, students were deliberated about international eco-internship program. Moreover, students were also encouraged to get membership and to be the part of their eco-internship program.

• Students of Environmental Engineering Department won second cash prize of worth Rs. 10,000/- in Sohni Dharti Digital video competition under "Green Campus" banner. This competition was organized by Epiphany Pk. on 06-11-2018 at Fatima Jinnah Women University, Rawalpindi.

• Department of Environmental Engineering organized one day workshop on "Research Methodology and Selection of Final Year Projects" on 13-09-2018. This workshop helped the students to understand the basic concept of research methods and their application in the selection and execution of research projects. Moreover, research evaluation through Outcome-Based Education (OBE) system was also demonstrated.

• Department of Environmental Engineering has been granted reaccreditation under level-II of Outcome Based Education (OBE) system for two years i.e., intake batches of 2014 and 2015, based on the satisfactory level of compliance against accreditation criteria and quality standards.

• Department of Environmental Engineering visited "Biodiversity Park", Morgah on the invitation of National Cleaner Production Center (NCPC), dated 6th July, 2018. Syed Nasir Mehmood (IG Forests) and Abdul Hameed Marwat (Expert Forests) deliberated the faculty on the current scenario of biodiversity and environmental changes. Moreover, environmental friendly practices e.g., solar cooking, botanical garden and biogas plant etc. operating at Biodiversity Park were also visited.

• The Department of Environmental Engineering participated in Open House and Job Fair, held on 4th July, 2018. Students of 2K14 session displayed their projects to the visiting students, faculty and representatives from industry. Moreover, cash prizes were distributed among best projects.

• Department of Environmental Engineering conducted one day seminar on "Current Scenario of Water Pollution in Pakistan" on 29th June, 2018. Dr. Amir Waseem was invited as guest speaker from Quaid-e-Azam University, Islamabad. Faculty and students from different departments also attended the session.

• Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) visited the Department of Environmental Engineering on 2-3 July, 2018 for the re-accreditation of session 2014 and onward on Outcome Based Education (OBE) system.

• Tree Plantation drive was carried out by "Environmental Engineering Department" and "Environment & Horticulture Society (EHS)" in collaboration with "National Cleaner Production Center (NCPC)" on 21-02-2018. Worthy Vice Chancellor inaugurated the event.

• Students of Environmental Engineering Department won "Best Stall" award in Environmental Mela '18, organized by National Cleaner Production Center (NCPC) at Ayub National Park on 10-03-2018. Students also got awards and certificates in other categories including best photographer competition, speech competition, celebrate your culture competition and English prose competition.

• Department of Environmental Engineering conducted an awareness session regarding Outcome-Based Education (OBE) for all students on 19-01-2018.

• Students of session 2k15 visited Neelum-Jhelum Hydropower Plant (NJHEP) on 16-1-2018 to 18-1-2018. Students were demonstrated by the site officials regarding various operational processes involved in the project. Moreover, this study tour has helped the students to get the exposure of real time operations and practices.

• Department of Environmental Engineering conducted CPD workshop on "Wastewater Treatment Plant Commissioning, Operation, Maintenance & Troubleshooting" on 11-12-2017

• The Department of Environmental Engineering participated in Open House 2016, held on 26th April at Multi-Purpose Hall of the University. In Open house students of 2K12 session displayed their projects to the visiting students, faculty and representatives from industry.

• Final year students visited Albayrak Lahore, and Waste Busters Lahore on 07and 08-04-2016.
  Students were demonstrated by the Albayrak officials regarding advance solid waste collection vehicles and mechanical sweeping and washing tools. Moreover, at Waste Busters students were exposed to the commercial compost plant.
  

• The group of students from Environmental Engineering Department participated in “The Environmental Mela” organized by National Cleaner Production Center (NCPC) in collaboration with Army Heritage Foundation (AHF), held on April 16, 2016, at Ayub National Park, Rawalpindi. The department got First prize in article writing contest with a cash of Rs. 3,000 as well as First position in photography competition.

• University of Engineering and Technology, Department of Environmental Engineering, Taxila Pakistan has signed a Memorandum of understanding with University of Belgrade, Faculty of Technology and Metallurgy, Belgrade Serbia in December, 2015.
