5th Reunion of UET Taxila Alumni was organized on Saturday January 14, 2017 at Royal Palm Golf & Country Club, Lahore. Senior Alumni from Session (1975-1981) were participated in the memorable evening. Objective of the event was to on board the most senior alumni of UET, Taxila at Alumni Association forum to get their active involvement in achieving association’s objectives. It was remarkable step taken by Alumni Association to connect experienced senior alumni from pioneer badges of UET, Taxila. The new executive body of the association was elected in this event. Alumni Members appreciated the efforts made by the President Alumni Association, Prof. Dr. Mumtaz Ahmed Kamal and placed their confidence in the chair by electing him for another three years, Tenure. Engr. Muhammad Khalid Sheikh (76-CE-36) was elected as Vice President. Engr. Najmus Saqib Rehmani (81-ME-55) was elected as Joint Secretary. Prof. Dr. Aftab Ahmad was elected as Finance Secretary. Prof. Dr. Tahir Nadeem Malik was elected as General Secretary. Prof. Dr. Adeel Akram, was elected as executive member from Taxila. It was decided that the positions of General Secretary, Finance Secretary and one executive member would be elected among the faculty of UET, Taxila. The members for the rest of the positions will be elected through elections, after every three years. Four Regional Chapters were declared and following focal persons were nominated to promote further networking of alumni in coordination with Alumni Association. Engr. Abdul Qadeer Islamabad Engr. Dr. Mumtaz Ahmed Kamal appreciated the participants for their presence at the event. He informed about the new initiatives taken by the association and requested for financial assistance from well off alumni for university endowment fund which will be utilized for the assistance of deserving students and also for merit based scholarships.
