Taxila, March 16, 2025 – The Alumni Association of the University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Taxila organized a memorable Iftar dinner for the hostel students on March 16, 2025. The event aimed to create lasting memories for the final semester students while also motivating them to contribute to their alma mater once they embark on their professional careers.
The Iftar dinner, attended by over 600 male and female students, took place at MP Hall and Fatima Hall within the university campus. The event was graced by the presence of the worthy Vice Chancellor and Registrar, who joined the gathering to celebrate the spirit of Ramadan with the students.
The event was hosted by key members of the Executive Management of the Alumni Association, including Prof. Dr. Mumtaz Ahmad Kamal, Prof. Dr. Riffat Asim Pasha, Prof. Dr. Adnan Habib, and Engr. Musaib Qureshi. The gathering also saw the attendance of the chairmen of academic and administrative departments, further enriching the holistic nature of the Iftar.
In his address to the students, the President of the Alumni Association, Prof. Dr. Mumtaz Ahmad Kamal, emphasized the importance of giving back to the university. He urged students to strengthen their institute through valuable contributions and become an integral part of the activities organized by the Alumni Association.
Prof. Dr. Kamal also acknowledged the university administration's efforts in providing land for the construction of an Alumni Center. He highlighted that the new building would serve as a symbol of the alumni's love and affection for their alma mater, while also standing as an identity for the alumni on campus.
The Iftar dinner not only provided a chance for students to connect with their alumni but also reinforced the spirit of giving back and staying connected with the university throughout their professional journeys.
With phenomenal increase in students' enrollment in 1970's, a plan to establish additional campuses of the University of Engineering and Technology Lahore was conceived. As a result of that, the University College of Engineering Taxila was established.
